If Guangzhou wins the Asiad bid, in the coming 6 years, a total of 200 billion yuan (about 24.1 billion USD) will be used to solve the traffic problems and improve its ecological environment, says Zhang Guangning, mayor of Guangzhou.
Guangzhou will achieve the success in biding for 2010 Asian Games, and Guangzhou will be more beautiful in 2010, says Zhang.
A delegation, led by Guangzhou's mayor Zhang Guangning, departed for Doha, to attend the meeting of Olympic Council of Asia on Jul 1st.
Zhang reveals that if Guangzhou wins, the local government will invest 1.1 billion US dollars to build 44 venues for match and 44 venues for training.
Until 2010, Guangzhou's GDP will reach 766 billion yuan (about 92.5 billion USD), and its' industrial production value will hit 1.25 trillion yuan (about 0.15 trillion USD). During the 6 years, a total of 200 billion yuan will be used to solve the traffic problems and improve ecological environment, says Zhang.
Zhang also expresses that many sports facilities will be constructed in the city's center and soak the city with Olympic atmosphere.
