A delegation of Guangzhou officials met with Ahmad, president of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), in Kuwait on February 15th.
Led by Xu Deli, Vice-Governor of Guangdong province and Wei Jizhong, Chairman of Olympic Council of Asia Sports Committee in China, the delegation visited to discuss bidding to be the host of the 2010 Asia Games.
Xu Deli restated Guangzhou's strong determination to host the Games and explained the city's preparation work.
Ahmad welcomed members of the delegation and reaffirmed his support for Guangzhou's bid for the Games.
Ahmad also expressed his strong belief that Guangzhou and the other big cities in China have the ability to hold international sports contests. OCA has started taking applications for the 2010 Asia Games and a team has been set up by OCA to review all bidding cities.
