Work on a promotional film to aid China's bid for the 2010 Asian Games began March, 1.
The film is being made in Guangzhou, the city that China hopes will host the Games.
Sun Zhou, the director of the film, said the film would highlight flowers and the Pearl River. He said Guangzhou people were famous for their love for flowers and that the river was like a name card for the city.
One of the scenes shows a flower farmer and his grand daughter rowing a boat carrying fresh flowers through the city to an early morning flower market.
Sun said he was under great pressure to make the film. He had only two weeks to prepare and was to finish it by the end of this month.
The director said the film would be a showcase of different facets of Guangzhou, including its facilities, service quality, management level and cultural environment.
"I want to convince the judges that the city is qualified in every way to host the Games," he said.
Cantonese food will be another highlight of the film. Sun quoted the popular saying: "The best place to eat is Guangzhou."
A globe-trotter, Sun was impressed with the changes brought about by Guangzhou's fast development. He said the city's airport was definitely one of the best in the world, which would definitely impress viewers.
The film will also relate Guangzhou people's enthusiasm for sports with scenes of dragon boat races and other sporting activities.
"I want every single scene ... to be of masterpiece level," Sun said.
The film will last five to 10 minutes and will be produced in five editions. The best edition, lasting about 10 minutes, will be used in the presentation in Doha.
