Shenzhen Golf Club is located near the midway point of the Shennan Road, just an eight-minute drive from Huanggang Port. It's the nearest mainland golf club to Hong Kong, opposite the famous Honey Lake Country Club. The famous Japanese golfer Isoa Aoki designed the first 18 holes, and the latter 9 holes were co-designed by professional golfers from Hong Kong. In 1997, the club board funded the rebuilding of the 27-hole course, re-designed by Neil Haworth, who added additional wave, sand, and water bunkers and additional trees. The grass was also changed, and a new computer-controlled spray system and drainage system were installed. The result is a fresh, new course full of challenges.
