Zhang Guangning, Mayor of Guangzhou, inspected the construction site of Guangzhou Baiyun International Conference Center in the morning. He asked related agencies to finish the construction on time with high quality and ensure the safety of the workers.

Mr. Zhang called for to built the Guangzhou Baiyun International Conference Center into a first level international conference center to show the charm of the modern metropolis.

After half year's work, five main buildings have been basically erected and the construction has made big progress.

Mayor Zhang told related officials that the Center will hold the People's Congress and the People's Political Consultative Conference of Guangdong Province and Guangzhou city, and that it will play an important role for the improvement of the function and the image of the city.  He also asked them to speed up the construction of roads, bus stops and hotels near the center.

Mr. Zhang put forward the following requirements as the next steps to be taken: to introduce high level employees and provide professional trainings, to improve the service level of the Center; to strengthen the communication and co-operation between agencies for the construction of the center and related facilities.
