A total of 35 oversea Chinese from 12 different countries completed their martial arts training course today (June 7) in Foshan city, Guangdong Province.

All of the course participants are members in Oversea Chinese Culture Communities, they have learned skills of Lion Dance and Southern Boxing (Nam Quan) during the two weeks' training.

They've also visited the historical sites in Guangzhou, Foshan and Dongguan, and get some basic knowledge of traditional Chinese culture.

The course helps the oversea Chinese to learn more about Chinese Culture, said an official from State Council of Overseas Chinese Affairs Office.

"I'm very exciting to have this change to learn standard Lion dance skills, it's very helpful for us to spread the skills", said Lu, from a New Zealand Lion dance community.

Sahm Fatemi, from Canada, performed a lion dance in the commencement. He said although this is his first time to China, he was very interested in Chinese Kongfu before he came here.

The State Council of Overseas Chinese Affairs Office has run ten classes of Chinese Art Training Courses since 2002, and a total of 400 oversea Chinese from 62 countries have attended the courses. A folk dance and sinning course is planed to hold in Shenzhen in the second half of this year.
