Yesterday (Aug. 7th), Guangdong Food and Drug Administration told media that the province had recalled 52,800 of clindamycin phosphate glucose injection, which had killed 3 people in China.

The administration had issued a circular ordering all the hospitals, drug selling organizations and shops to suspend the antibiotic injection, which was produced by a pharmaceutical in east China's Anhui Province since June. And the administration also asked all the medical monitoring units of the province to report local cases of severe reactions in recipients of the antibiotic.

The Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring Center of the State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) has received 81 reports of severe reaction including three deaths in recipients of the antibiotic from 10 provinces by Saturday.
Patients in Qinghai first reported kidney pains, stomach aches, nausea, vomiting and chest pains after using the drug on July 27. Similar reports were filed in Guangxi, Zhejiang, Shandong and Heilongjiang provinces.
