Governor of south China's Guangdong Province Huang Huahua arrived in Macao Monday (Dec 8th), seeking further cooperation between Guangdong and Macao.
During his three-day visit, Huang will meet with Macao Chief Executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah on defining the mechanism and priorities for the bilateral cooperation, which was deepened by a series of preferential trade and tourism policies tailored by the Central Government for Hong Kong and Macao, the two special administrative regions of China.
Ho said at a welcoming banquet Monday night that Macao's economic development benefits a lot from its neighboring Guangdong. With the fast economic integration of the Pearl River Delta Region, the bilateral relations will step into a new era.
For his part, Huang said that Macao has become one of the 10 most important trading partners of Guangdong and it is to Guangdong's interest to seek common development with Macao.
