The state statistics bureau released a list of the 100 strongest cities in China on Dec 24. Eleven cities of Guangdong were on the list with Shenzhen and Guangzhou ranking 3rd and 4th. Guangdong led other provinces in number of cities selected.
The top ten cities in the list are: Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Dalian, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Shenyang and Harbin.
The main yardsticks in this selection are the population and utilization of labor resource, economic and social development, infrastructure, environmental protection and development of cyclic economy.
