The GDP of nine Guangdong cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) exceeded 2.2 trillion yuan in Q1 2021, showing strong capability for economic recovery.
Playing a vital role in China’s development, the Greater Bay Area is one of the most dynamic regions in the country and provides its global counterparts with Greater Future for joint success.
With a total population of approximately 71.2 million, the Greater Bay Area includes nine cities of Guangdong province: Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Huizhou, and Zhaoqing as well as two special administrative regions Hong Kong and Macao. Surrounding the Pearl River Delta with a total area of 56,000 square kilometers, it is the largest and the richest economic region in South China.
More and more young people in Hong Kong, Macao are taking root in mainland cities of the GBA. Although these young people in Hong Kong and Macao are in different stages of life and have chosen different paths, they have encountered new turning points in mainland cities in the GBA and found new directions in their lives.
Statistics show that Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao have jointly established 10 Guangdong-Hong Kong youth startup incubators and 3 Guangdong-Macao youth startup incubators. By the first half of 2020, these incubators have attracted 518 entrepreneurial teams from Hong Kong and 234 from Macao.

A "one-hour commuting circle" is being constructed to connect the 11 cities of the Greater Bay Area through an increasingly sophisticated transport network and more convenient border services.
The Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High-speed Rail, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and urban rails linking cities with cities benefit people who are working and living in the Greater Bay Area while more mega infrastructural projects such as the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link and Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-speed Rail are under construction.
