Lyon, a sister city of Guangzhou will hold its Culture Week from June 10th in Guangzhou, capital city of Guangdong province, announced in a press conference of the government news office of Guangzhou today (June 6).
People of Guangzhou will be provided a chance to enjoy a series of French-flavor activities and to know Lyon's splendid history and culture.
As a part of the France Culture Year in China, this event will tighten the Sister City relationship between Guangzhou and Lyon as well as the understanding and friendship between the people of the two cities, and will enhance the friendly exchanges and cooperation between the two cities.
Guangzhou had held "Guangzhou Cultural Week" in Lyon in October 2003, and the event was also a part of celebration of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Sister City relationship between Guangzhou and Lyon. It was a big Sister City exchange project between Guangzhou and Lyon, as the first climax of the Cultural Years in the two cities.
