THE second China France Youth Chess Match (CFYCM) will start Tuesday (June 28th) at the Xili Shanzhuang Villas after the eight players from both sides arrived in the city Monday.
The eight rounds of matches are scheduled at 1:30 p.m. everyday from Tuesday to July 6, one round each day. Interested chess lovers are welcome to come and watch.
The four-member French team will be led by Jean-Claude Moingt, the president of the chess federation in France, and the Chinese team by Ye Jiangchuan, general coach of China's national chess team.
The sequence of players to each round would be decided through a random draw Tuesday, a member of the organizing committee said.
Also Tuesday, at 4:00 p.m. the 20 winners from Sunday's chess tournament for Shenzhen Daily readers will meet and play chess with the five Chinese "chess queens" attending the CFYCM, including Xie Jun, Zhu Chen, Liu Shilan, Xu Yuhua and Qin Kanying.
The French players will visit some local schools Saturday to meet young chess learners.
The CFYCM is an activity for the China France Year, a cultural exchange program between the Chinese and French governments.
