The tinder flame of the 15th Asian Games, Doha will be brought to Guangzhou, Guangdong by air from Beijing by Qatar Prince Sheikh Joaan at noon today (Oct 24th), according to Guangzhou Daily.

The flame is to kindle a torch, which will be relayed in a 24-kilometer run in Guangzhou tomorrow afternoon.

Mr. Lei Yulan, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, will launch the run at Zhenhai Tower, by passing the torch to Yang Jinghui, Guangzhou's Olympic Champion. Zhong Nanshan Ph. D. from Guangzhou, Panel Chief of China's anti-SARS campaign, will take the final relay and light the fire at the Torch Platform, together with the top officials of the Guangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee at Tianhe Sports Center,termination point of the run.

Temporary traffic control measures will be implemented on some roads on the relay route tomorrow as the second phase of the Canton Fair will begin on the same day causing traffic congestion in the city. The traffic control procedures will only be in effect for a short while before and after the torch relay.
