Delegation of "Guangdong Culture Days" Tuesday (June 22nd) moves to Santa Coloma, Catalunia of Spain, another stop of its show tour , right after its presentation in France comes to an end on 20th.
Co-organized by the government of Catalunia, municipality of Santa Coloma, and the "Home of Asia" organization, the event aims at introducing the tradition and culture of Guangdong to the people in Santa Coloma and the overseas Chinese living there.
In the opening ceremony of Guangdong Culture Days here, Han Dajian, Vice-chairman of Guangdong Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), says that as sister-province to each other, the friendly exchange between Guangdong and Catalunia has enjoyed a long history. The fruitful communication and cooperation in the field of economy, education and science and technology between these two areas have benefited both parts in its economic and social development.
On behalf of the local people, officials with Catalunia government express their warm welcome for the advent of the "Guangdong Culture Days", saying that Catalunia and Guangdong have a lot in common, both possessing an important position and being the trade, industrial and cultural exchange hub of its country, which sets a firm foundation for a closer relationship between the two places.
Officials and residents watch a puppet show staring the famous Chinese puppet player Cui Keqin after the opening ceremony. Also the Foshan folk art show featuring Lingnan culture and the "Guangdong Today" photograph exhibition gives the local people a chance to have a close look at the culture of Guangdong.
