Artists and stage performers from South China's Guangdong Province will stage local culture during the upcoming Guangdong culture days in South France's Marseille.
Guangdong delegation leave for France today, to take part in the Culture Week in Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur Region of France, together with them are their passionate artistic creation, and the mission to demonstrate Guangdong's customs and culture.
The delegation is composed of 70 performers from various art organizations like Southern Song and Dance troupe, Guangdong Puppet Troupe, Foshan Folk Art Research Institute, etc.
Organized by the Guangdong Department of Culture, Guangdong Culture Week, combining art performance and exhibitions, will run from June 15th.
The exchange and cooperation between Guangdong and Alpes-Cote d'Azur Region in the realm of economy, culture and education have witnessed great achievement since the two places established a "sister province" relationship.
Through the Culture week, people in France's Province-Alpes-Cote d'Azur Region will have a chance to taste the martial art's-based lion dance, traditional paper cutting and puppet shows and calligraphy show by children, etc. The event will also including a photo exhibition called "Today's Guangdong", presenting Guangdong's new look in the new era. At the same time, live shows by Guangdong's folk artists will fascinate the French people with the vitality of their art.
This is the second time for Guangdong culture days to be held overseas as the first was held in Poland in 2002.
The delegation then will hold culture days in Spain.
Guangdong residents and entrepreneurs will also attend the event, as multi-facet exchange representatives, also with an aim to taste France culture or to search for business opportunities.
