French cyclist wins men's mountain bike cross country gold

French cyclist Julien Absalon won men's mountain bike cross country gold with a time of 2:15:02 at Athens Olympics on Saturday (Aug 28), ahead of Jose Antonio Hermida of Spain and Bart Brentjens of the Netherlands.

Hermida finished second with 2:16:02 and Brentjens was third by clocking 2:17:05.

Defending champion Miguel Martinez of France didn't finish the race.
