Hungary's Robert Fazekas, who won the men's discus throw on Monday (Aug 23), is to be stripped of the gold after trying to switch his urine sample during a drugs test at the Athens Olympic Games.
An International Olympic Committee source said Fazekas had not wanted to give a test after Monday's final.
Belarussian high jumper Aleksey Lesnichiy has tested positive for banned anabolic agent clenbuterol.
Lithuanian Virgilijus Alekna will now be awarded the discus gold, with Hungary's Zoltan Kovago taking silver and Aleksander Tammert of Estonia the bronze.
Officials at the Belarussian Olympic Committee in Athens also said they were unaware of any failed dope test involving their athlete.
Fazekas, the 29-year-old European champion and 2003 World Championship runner-up, will be the second athletics gold medallist to forfeit their titles at the Athens Games.
Irina Korzhanenko of Russia was stripped of her women's Olympic shot put gold on Sunday after testing positive for a steroid.
