Peng Bo clinched the fourth diving gold medal for China Tuesday (Aug 24) when he held his nerves to win the men's 3m springboard title at the Olympic Games.

Peng, denied a chance for the synchronized title on Aug. 16 after they scored a no-dive in the last dive, redeemed his loss with the victory in 787.38 points.

Athens World Cup Alexander Despatie of Canada leapfrogged to take silver in 755.97 after collecting 91.80 from his sixth and final dive.

Sydney Olympic synchronized platform champion Dmitri Sautin was pushed to the third place in 753.27.

It is the fourth diving gold China has won here after they triumphed in the both women's synchronized platform and 3m springboard as well as the men's synchronized platform.

China has won 24 gold medals ranking the second in the medal tally with America at the top of the gold tally by winning 25 golds.
