The new Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong Province, which is planned to start operation on June 28th this year, will have its test-fly tomorrow (May 18) as schedule.

A Boeing 777 airplane owned by China Southern Airlines will take the fly, releases source on May 16.

The test-fly will be divided into two phases, in a bid to avoid the "rush hour" of flights:

First test-fly (6:00am--8:00am)
1. The Boeing 777 plane, taking off from the old airport, flies to the new airport, and tests the arrival procedure;
2. Related press conference held by the new airport;
3. Emergency drills;
4. Fueling drills;
5. Boeing 777 leaves the new airport.

Second test-fly (8:00pm--10:00pm):
1. Boeing 777 leaves for the new airport;
2. The plane flies over the new airport for checking the brightness and color of all kinds of navigation lights.

The best pilots, flight commanders and attendants will be dispatched for this test-fly.

It is also reported a repair construction project covering a series of trunk roads connecting the new airport with downtown Guangzhou, such as the Jichang Road, Guanghua Road, Huangshidong Road and Jiefangbei Road is planned to be finished in early June this year.

* Boeing 777: the test-fly "expert"

The first Boeing 777 twinjet airplane, born in May 1995, was designed and produced by the Boeing Company, USA. With its unique advantages in flight deck and landing gear system, Boeing 777 is often considered the first choice for all kinds of test-flies.
