On Sep 9, 2016, the Tourism Administration of Kashgar Prefecture held in Guangzhou the “Beautiful Kashgar along the Silk Road” tourism promotion and the launching ceremony of the documentary of “Guangdong-Xinjiang Silk Road 5000-km Self-driving”. More than 200 people were present at the promotion conference, including heads of relevant departments, persons in charge of well-known travel agencies in China and media.

From January to June this year, Guangdong attracts 174 million overnight visitors, with year-on-year growth of 13 percent, and 15.6 million of them are inbound travelers, according to the Analysis Report of Guangdong Tourism Economic Operation of the First Half Year of 2016. The report was issued by Guangdong Tourism Research Centre (GDTRC) on the news conference in Guangzhou on September 9.

The 2016 China (Guangdong) International Tourism Industry Expo (CITIE) debuts an “East African Tourism Promotion Area”. This is the first time East African tourism got a promotion area in CITIE.
