The Hong Kong government Tuesday (Jan. 25) announced to give 1 million Hong Kong dollars (128,000 US dollars)to the Sri Lankan government to provide disaster aid and relief to its tsunami victims.
This is the second cash grant for tsunami victims following a 1million Hong Kong dollars grant to the Maldives government.
Sri Lanka's Honorary Consul in Hong Kong and Macao, Thomas Cheung, expressed thanks to the Hong Kong government on behalf of the Sri Lankan government.
In line with the established arrangements for grants, the recipient country will provide the government with an evaluation report on the disbursement of the grant in six months.
