Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government Henry Tang will depart for Beijing on Sunday afternoon for a duty visit, a government statement said in Hong Kong Saturday (Nov 15th).

Tang will officiate at the opening ceremony for the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd (HKEx) Representative Office in Beijing next Monday.

The Secretary for Financial Service and the Treasury, FrederickMa, will also attend the Opening Ceremony.

Tang and Ma will also address a conference organized by HKEx to mark the 10th anniversary of the listing of Chinese mainland enterprises in Hong Kong.

During his stay in Beijing, the financial secretary will call on senior officials of the Central People's Government to discuss matters of mutual interest and update each other on the latest developments in the mainland and in Hong Kong.

During Tang's visit to Beijing, Stephen Ip, secretary for economic development and labor, will double up as financial secretary.
