Brazil's national volleyball team on Sunday (Aug 27th) won its fourth consecutive and sixth overall world league title, beating France 3-2 in the emotional final in Moscow, according to reports reaching here.
Just over 7,200 spectators watched the two-hour-eight-minute game. Brazil won in 22-25, 23-25, 25-22 25-23 and 15-13.
Russia finished third with a 3-0 victory over Bulgaria -- 25-20,25-19 and 25-19 -- in one hour and 11 minutes.
The Brazilian team, led by Bernardo Rezende, won with a record 16 victories, losing only once in the whole competition to Bulgaria at the start of the final round. The highest scoring player in the competition was Gilberto Godoy Filho, with 29 points.
Europe's Sebastian Ruette was the competition's second highest scorer with 21 points.
Brazil are also world and Olympic champions.
