Manchester City's Chinese midfielder Sun Jihai has been named a member of Eurosport's Team of the Week.
The Chinese footballer was a major contributor to the team's 4-1 win over Birmingham City last weekend.
Sun Jihai is now in the process of negotiating a new contract with the Premiership side. Sun insists the most important issue is the extended contract should assure his position in the club's starting lineup.
Sun is known as a versatile player on the team. He is capable of playing all positions resulting in strong competition from all teammates.
Sun Jihai joined Manchester City in March 2002. He had come from China's Dalian after a one-year spell in Crystal Palace. In the first month following his transfer, Sun had beat-out the hot French forward Nicholas Anelka to be elected most valuable City player by English fans.
Sun had become the first Chinese player ever to score in the Barclaycard Premiership when he made the first City goal in their 2-0 win over Birmingham. This was a spectacular follow-up to a World Cup campaign where Sun was brilliant despite China's disastrous results.
