The World Snooker Association says the 2004-05 World Snooker Tournament will come to China next month.

As the seventh round of the tournament, the World Snooker China Open will start on March 26 and close on April 3.
It's the first time for China to host a world-class snooker event and also the first time that the tournament is to be held in a country outside the United Kingdom.

The China Open features the world's top 16 snooker players, including Ronnie O'Sullivan, Stephen Hendry and John Higgins.

Marco Fu of Hong Kong SAR and top Chinese mainland player Ding Junhui will also compete in the tournament.
