German Students Are Making Multimedia Works.

Chinese and German Students Make Exchanges through E-mail.
"Shopping, candies, and Spring Festival blessings are all essential." During the Spring Festival, German students shared the happiness of their Chinese friends through videos.
In May 2005, the Gallus Zentrum High School of Frankfurt and the No. 6 High School of Guangzhou organized some 16-to-18-year-old high school students for exchange activities. During the 2005 summer vacation, students sent self-introduction videos or PowerPoint files to each other via e-mail.
The vigor of the No. 6 High School students impressed their German friends. During the 2006 summer vacation, the students of the two cities established a website together and collaborated on multimedia projects.
"We exchanged our MSN Messenger addresses. We got to know each other via internet phone, talking about our schools, daily life and the culture of our countries. Now I often chat with my German friend Katherina," said Xie Bingying.
At the beginning, Mr. Chen, who is responsible for the project, was worried about the English level of his students. In fact, the two sides both see it as an opportunity to learn a foreign language. Their topics cover a wide spectrum from food, tourism and movies to sports, music and the World Cup. Teachers at the Germen Youth Exchange Center often praised the Guangzhou students' fluent English, saying, "Their English level is even better than their German partners."
The German students were very interested in a Guangzhou girl's tea preparation DV. With thumbs up, they said, "We asked the Guangzhou students how to do it; they are able to do many things well...The people of Guangzhou like good food and tea...After watching the DVs, we all want to go to Guangzhou."
