Ten thousands of people flee for their lives in the early morning of Oct.18, when a sudden rainstorm struck Shiling town in Huadu district of Guangzhou city. No casualty was reported.

The rescue crews of the district were send to rescue persons or property threatened. Sewage system is now under strict monitor and the collapsed lampposts on the streets are under repair.

More than 250 millimeters of rain was dumped from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m., and the rainstorm stopped at 8a.m.. 186.67 hectare of farmland, 73.87 hectare of stew and more than 24 factories were soaked in water. About 969 houses were submerged and 75 ones collapsed.

The flood receded from main streets till 3 p.m. But the Jinshi Road is blocked out, as the bridge there was damaged
