Jenny Bowen (front centre), an executive with the U.S.-based Half the Sky Foundation, sits with children and workers at the Shenzhen Welfare Center yesterday (June 27) for a photo to mark the launch of the Xinhe Family program funded by the foundation. The program has recruited six couples to take care of more than 30 children, who live in six independent apartments with the couples to create the feeling of being part of a family.
