The frontdoor to Madame Soong Mei-ling's old residence in Nanjing, South China's Jiangsu Province. Dubbed "Mei-Ling Palace", it was built in 1931 by the then Nanjing government. Madame Soong was born in Shanghai on March 10, 1897. She died in New York on the night of Oct. 23, 2003 at the age of 106. |
