The South China University of Technology, dubbed as "the cradle of engineers and entrepreneurs," celebrates its 50th anniversary here Sunday.
Li Changchun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the CPC sends his congratulatory message the school.
The university, which has 20 institutes, has trained nearly 100,000 high-level professionals in fields of economics, management, arts and law.
With a teaching staff of 4,000, the university now has 33,000 undergraduates.
