While rumors of her impending marriage to Chinese mainland beau Li Yapeng are spreading, Hong Kong pop diva Faye Wong has found herself caught in a new swirl of gossip.

The latest buzz is that Wong will retire by the end of the year. Though the news was vehemently denied by Wong's manager Chan Ka-ying , it spread over Chinese newspapers in days.
According to the Guangzhou-based Southern Metropolitan News, rumors about Wong's retirement began to surface in January at her Guangzhou concert.
That night, Faye's pals Carina Lau, Lam Jik and Eddie Lau were all there, which was an unusual sight for the eyes of the media. Hong Kong media soon connected this with words Wong once said to her fans at an earlier time: "If there is a day I'll retire from showbiz, I hope you will forget about me."
A Hong Kong's Ming Pao story disclosed that besides the endorsement deal Wong had signed a while ago, there was no new work lined up for her. The diva was now enjoying an intimate, romantic life with Li Yapeng.
Sources close to Faye have said that even if the diva didn't get married, she would retire anyway. Wong is not money hungry and she thinks she's already reached her limit in the music business.
Most importantly, Wong longs for a private life and her friends are supportive. The diva is 36 this year and has everything she will ever need.
Wong has been hiding from media hunting for news of a secret wedding in May with Li Yapeng, former boyfriend of popular Chinese actress and singer Zhou Xun.
The wedding rumor was confirmed by Li's brother Li Yawei early in February, but Wong's manager declined to comment on it.
