North to Guangzhou Baiyun Airport and south to Guangzhou New Train Station and Nansha Harbor, the expressway is the quickest gateway for entering Guangzhou from the western and southern parts of the PRD region. Together with its northern and southern extending lines, its east line has a length of 60 kilometers and parallels the Guangzhou West Ring Expressway. The expressway links Foshan's 5 county-level districts with Guangzhou, facilitating transportation in the Guangzhou-Foshan Metropolitan Region.
