Latest Updated by 2006-08-24 11:23:04

Global container terminal tycoon APM and Asia's top company COSCO Pacific Limited have teamed up with Guangzhou Port Group with plans to develop berth projects. The 3 counterparts signed a contract at the Garden Hotel yesterday (Aug. 22).

The contract details the investment of 4 billion RMB for the second-phase project of 6 deep-water berths in Nansha port. The cooperation with APM Terminals and COSCO Pacific is expected to improve Nansha's status as an international logistic center, and promote the port economy in the Pearl River Delta area.

APM Terminals is one of the world's largest operators of container terminals with over 40 container terminals spanning 24 countries and five continents. COSCO Pacific ranks the largest container leasing company in Asia and the 5th largest in the world.
