Sinopec Guangzhou Petrochemical Complex said yesterday (August 21) that the company's present annual diesel oil output of two million tons will be increased to five million tons by the end of this year.
It is expected to help relieve the diesel oil thirst in Guangzhou and the Pearl River Delta. The company's equipment conversion and adjustment work is now underway.
Its crude oil processing abilities are expected to be up to 12 million tons per year by the end of this year. Diesel oil will be about 4.8 to 5 million tons per year, more than twice the current production. The increased production will not only supply Guangzhou, but also the Pearl River Delta.
In addition, all refineries under Sinopec will raise the production ratio of diesel oil and gasoline beginning September 1. Because of the new policy, Sinopec Guangzhou Petrochemical Complex will be able to provide an extra 4,000 tons of diesel oil every month for the Pearl River Delta market.
