Well-informed Palestinian sources announced on Sunday night that rival Fatah and Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) agreed to end street armed clashes in the Gaza Strip and pullout militants from the streets.
The sources said that the two mainstream movements made the agreement following a mediation by leaders of the Islamic Jihad (Holy War) and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
Leaders of the four groups would announce the cease-fire deal in a news conference that would be held in Gaza at 10:00 p.m. local time (20:00 GMT), according to the sources.
