EU, Iran declare headway in nuclear talks - World - News Brief

The meeting was "constructive," according to EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana and top Iranian negotiator Ali Larijani. They also said the two sides would continue talks next week.

"We have clarified some of the misunderstandings that existed before," Solana said. "We have made progress" and "we are going to meet next week," he added.

Larijani also said that "many misunderstandings were removed" in talks with the EU.

The progress was announced as the United States was pressing for sanctions against Iran over its refusal to suspend uranium enrichment.
