Chang Qing, a 71-year-old photographer, puts the photos in order at home in Tangshan City of north China's Hebei Province on July 25, 2006. Chang, with over 40 years of photography career, has been recording Tangshan with his camera since 1970's. In 1976, he pictured the aftermath of Tangshan earthquake and the reconstruction of the city. During the past 30 years, Chang has taken over 10,000 photos featuring the great changes of Tangshan. On July 28, 1976, a major earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale leveled Tangshan, killing 240,000 people and leaving 160,000 others severely injured and more than 4,000 children orphaned. A series of activities are held in Tangshan to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the earthquake.
