The second Pan-Pearl River Delta Regional Cooperation and Development Forum opened in Chengdu, Sichuan province this morning (July 25).

Hua Jianmin, State Councilor and Secretary General, State Council, announced the opening of the Forum, and Zhang Xuezhong, Party Secretary of Sichuan province addressed at the opening ceremony. Chief Executives of Hong Kong and Macao SARs, Governors of 9 provinces and relative state ministers attended the opening ceremony.

There are more than 2,000 Guangdong economic and trade delegation members will attend the economic and trade conference, accounting for 1/3 of the total participants. And the contracted projects brought by Guangdong province account for 1/4 of the total.

Leaded by Governor Huang Huahua and Executive Vice Governor Zhong Yangsheng, Guangdong delegation arrived Chengdu yesterday afternoon.  Governor Huang Huahua has met Donald Tsang, Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Ho Hau Wah, Chief Executive of Macao Special Administrative Region.

The Pan-Pearl River Delta Region includes provinces of Guangdong, Hainan, Guizhou, Jiangxi, Yunnan, Sichuan, Hunan and Fuzhou and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, as well as Hong Kong and Macao.
