Chen Shaoji, Chairman of the Guangdong Provincial CPPCC Committee, delivers a work report

Members of Guangdong Provincial CPPCC Committee listen to the report
The Third session of Guangdong provincial people's consultative conference opened in Guangzhou this morning (Jan. 21).
"In this year, the Provincial Committee of CPPCC provided broad consultation to the government on important economic, politic and social affairs and on problems which peoples are all concerned" said Chen Shaoji, Chairman of the Guangdong Provincial CPPCC Committee, in his work report.
The session will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Guangdong Provincial People's Consultation Conference. In the past half century, the Provincial Committee delivered proposals and presented a variety of suggestions, critical views and opinions, which kept the government departments well-informed about the public opinions and social situation in their decision and policy makings.
In recent year, the provincial CPPCC has contributed a lot in keeping a harmonious society and a sustainable development. Here just to list a few:
The healthy operation of Non-commercial forest (NCF) is a key issue in environment and resource protection. In the past, some NCF operators earned extra money by cutting trees because their income was too low. Liang Xingquan, a member of Guangdong Provincial CPPCC Committee, reflected this problem to the provincial government, and delivered a proposal about launching a NCF compensation system. The government then made a new policy, earing over 100 million Yuan every year to compensate the NCF operators, and strengthened the protection of NCF.
A member of the committee delivered a proposal on urging the government to support IT industry in market exploitation years ago. His suggestion proved to be of great value. At present, Guangdong homes two of the eleven national software bases, and tops the nation in software production and exports
