Yu Guangzhou, Vice Minister of Commerce, visits Pazhou complex.

World's second largest exhibition-The 96th Chinese Export Commodities Fair (Canton Fair) opens today (Oct. 15th) in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong province.

The fair, held in both the Liuhua and Pazhou Complex, has 27,760 commodity display booths or 760 more compared to the last fair. The fair witnesses a surge of participants: Some 13,330 exhibitors, 1,106 more over the last session; More than 160,000 purchasers are expected to come, similar to that of last fair, which was a record high.

Yu Guangzhou, Vice Minister of Commerce, visits Pazhou complex this morning. He emphasizes that the corporations should constantly advance the quality of produces, and attaches importance to the brand strategy.

The turnover of the biannual Canton fair takes a quarter of the country's export trade volume. In the first nine months of this year Guangdong provincial GDP reached 1.113 trillion Yuan, 14.8% over the same period of previous year. The export-import value reaches 253.72 bln USD, including 133.58 bln USD export value.
