"Mom and Dad, let's sweep garbage together." On the morning of June 10th, over 50 first-grade pupils of the Dongfeng Road Primary School and their parents came to the Liuhua Lake Park, picking up fallen leaves, cleaning benches and distributing flyers. 

On June 10th, Guangzhou's first "family volunteer team" was set up by 50 families, and the pupils of those families became members of Guangzhou's first volunteer reserve team.

The family volunteer team is composed of the families of Guangzhou city. It is calling on families to participate in the "Clean Home and City" clean-up activity during the holidays and rest time. The volunteer reserve team is the city's first volunteer team mainly composed of children under 14 years of age.

Guangzhou Youth Volunteer Association Secretariat Mr. Liang said that with the increase of volunteers in Guangzhou, more and more children are participating in volunteer services. "In the past there had been no unified management to them," said Mr. Liang. To effectively play the role of children under the age of 14 in voluntary service, the Association will recruit more primary and middle school students during the second half of this year. Mr. Liang said: "They are  enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers." More than 200 volunteer reserve teams are expected to be established by the end of this year.
