With the approval of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), Southern Airlines will make two round-trip charter flights across Taiwan Strait for the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival, which falls on the fifth day of the fifth moon of the lunar calendar. Southern Airlines will be the only carrier to provide across-strait charter flights from Guangzhou for the festival. An Airbus 319, with 127 seats, will make the first flight to Taiwan on June 16.
Southern Airlines has significantly reduced the fares for cross-strait charter flights: round-trip and single-trip economy-class tickets cost RMB 2,643 and RMB 1,731 (including taxes), respectively. Taiwanese residents in Guangdong can purchase or book tickets by dialing Southern Airlines' service hotline 95539. Tickets are also available at Southern Airlines' ticketing offices throughout the country.
