On December 30, 2006, a new section of line No. 4 from Wanshengwei to Huangge was put into test operation. According to the schedule, Jiaomen and Jinzhou, the other two stations at the south of line No. 4, will conduct test operations on June 28. Approved by the Guangzhou municipal government, the Line No. 4 will be closed from May 8 to June 27 for joint debugging.
At present, the No. 4 line's passenger volume exceeds 20,000 per day; the highest daily passenger volume during the holidays is close to 40,000.
Jiaomen and Jinzhou are two elevated stations. A source from the Guangzhou Metro Company said that the Jinzhou Station is 6 kilometers from the sea at the south. After the opening of the two stations, the fare for the entire No. 4 Line will remain unchanged at RMB 8 and the fare for the metro network will remain RMB 12.
