On March 27 Guangzhou Baiyunshan Guanghua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. launched the lower price medicine union in level two/three cities, signing the "Full Access Lower Price Union" agreement with over 100 large businesses and terminals in Zhaoqin.
The principal of Baiyunshan Guanghua Pharmaceutical said the marketing mode for China's medicines is still dominated by the multilevel distribution mode (eg."Manufacturer?úPurchaser?úRetail Drug Store"). Therefore lowering prices is difficult because lower prices were only possible when possible to deal with the middle and downstream elements of the medicine distribution network. The "Full Access Lower Price Union" is longitudinal, lowering medicine prices by dealing directly with the pharmaceutical manufacturers. It was decided that, because the businesses and retail terminals purchase and sell the medicines at a lower price, Baiyunshan Guanghua Pharmaceutical will bear the resulting operating costs.
