A series of activities of planting and adopting trees will be held during March, the Tree-planting Month. The activities include the large-scale compulsory tree-planting activities in Liwan District, ten-thousand people planting trees activity in Panyu District, "Construct Green Homestead and win the forest-city title" activity in Haizhu District and many other activities of planting and adopting trees as well as carrying out environmental education and propaganda to the citizens. 1800 citizens will have the opportunity to plant and adopt the trees of redbud, jacaranda, elaeocarpus, mango and Clausena lansium in Baiyun and Zhuhai District.
According to the uncompleted statistics, the tree-planting sites will be more than 100 in the whole city during the "Tree-planting Month" among which there are 20 main sites for adopting trees. It is estimated that there will be more than 100 thousand people to take part in the activities and the trees to be planted will more than 1 million.

For the past 26 years, there have been more than 36.189 million people times taking part in the compulsory tree-planting activities and 84.61 million trees have been planted accumulatively. In the recent 3 years, there have been more than 10 million person times joined in the National Compulsory Tree-planting Movement in different ways. The service fee for the public greening, road greening and three dimensional greening is about RMB 30 million and the tree seedlings donated are more than 1 million.
