Guangzhou Mayor Zhang Guangning appeared outside the assembly room of the fifth session of the CPPCC in Beijing, answering questions from Chinese and overseas journalists.
"Small-size houses with an area of less the 90 square meters could be controllable", stated Mayor Zhang. Previously, Peng Linji, Deputy of NPC and President of Guangzhou Cliffford Group had claimed that, "Guangzhou will not have houses priced at 10,000+ RMB/sq.m. within five years."
Guangzhou government will exert efforts to restrain housing prices at a certain level by adding land supply, and building quality to low-rent houses. Guangzhou has now launched policies to ensure the housing of families with middle or low incomes. Small-size houses with an area of less than 90 square meters could be controllable. Mayor Zhang advised not to worry too much about the price, as the government would launch relevant policies, or offer some economic housing to middle or low-income people.

To own a house is many people's dream.
Mayor Zhang affirmed that economic housing is supervised seriously in order to limit abuse.
