On the evening of Feb. 14, Tianhe Flower Fair at Tianhe Sports Center opened, pulling in big crowds.

At 10 AM, Feb. 14, stall owners at Tianhe Flower Fair were busy arranging flowers.

Seven more flower fairs opened on Feb.15 in Guangzhou; thus, the 10 flower fairs planned for the Lunar New Year have all opened. With blooming flowers, carefully adorned archways, brilliantly red Chinese ties, fantastically-shaped lanterns and colorful banners, the city is about to erupt in joyous celebration for the Lunar New Year.

The 10 flower fairs provide a total of 3,540 stalls, with a total area of 270,000 square meters.

Compared with previous years, this year's flower fairs are more internationalized. At the gates to the East and West Lake Flower Fairs in Yuexiu District, huge billboards describe the design concepts of the archways and illustrate the layout of the fairs in both Chinese and English, and even the signage at the exits is provided with an English version.

These flower fairs exude the charm of China's timeless traditions; they also cater to young people, with the West Lake Flower Fair presenting animation stalls for the first time ever.

The stalls at the fairs showcase the products of florists and floral research institutions and businesses from throughout Guangdong and from Sichuan, Shandong, Hebei and Henan.
