The Guangdong Government Information Office announced yesterday (Jan 23) that Guangdong's bus ticket price during the spring travel rush can have a maximum 30% increase on the benchmark price.
The benchmark price refers to the total amount covering all the necessary costs and profit involved in transportation. Linlin, Deputy Director-General of Guangdong Administration of Price Control said that the increases in ticket prices are 25% lower than previous years.
The announcement regarding the increase in bus ticket prices this year followed the announcement regarding train ticket price cap, an effort meant to reduce burdens on low-income earners. Beginning tomorrow (Jan 25), travelers can make reservations for train tickets by phone.
