For the current year, up to December 6, 2006, Guangzhou's state taxation revenue totaled RMB 100.289 billion with a year-on-year increase of RMB 15.956 billion and showing an18.92 percent increase. The domestic revenue increased over 20 percent as compared with the same period of last year. The increases in the automobile, power, and crude oil industry sectors as well as the real estate industry are all over 35 percent.

The taxation revenue size of foreign related enterprises still tops the various economic types accounting for 55 percent of the total domestic taxation revenue.The taxation revenue of the joint-stock enterprises has risen the most with a year-on-year increase of 37 percent.

Guangzhou ranks third in total provincial capital exceeding RMB 100 Billion in state taxation revenues following only Shanghai and Beijing.
