Laser TV from Nansha Huishi Telecom Technology Company [Guangzhou Daily]
According to Nansha Huishi Telecom Technology Company, the TV designer and manufacturer, this brand-new kind of color monitor, of which Huishi has IPR, will be a breakthrough in western countries' monopoly of color monitor technologies.
The laser TV features a wide color range up to 7,000 - 8,000 kinds (double that of a normal TV's performance), high power/ray transfer ratio of 15% to 40% (much better than a normal TV's of 0.5% to 1%), and is more environmentally friendly with no harmful radiation.
Some professionals said that laser TV will be the strongest competitor in the big-screen TV category in the 21 century.
Samsung, Mitsubishi and Whirlpool have placed their orders with Huishi for their laser TV sets.
Huishi's first 500,000 to 600,000 laser TV sets are expected to be sold to the public all over the world by December 25th, 2007.
Initially, the retail price will be about the same as LCD TV, but will reduce by half during the following six to twelve months.
